Anybody had any experience with the fiocci small pistol primers? Since the s&b primers dried up, I'm looking for something to load in practice ammunition.

I have used them and am still using what I have left. I would not hesitate to buy again if they were available. The biggest challenge is that they are packaged in 150 lots and the tray layout is odd but I figured it out so I am sure you can too. Good luck

This was more or less my only issue with them. Loading 150 rounds in a go made boxing the Ammo up slightly awkward.

I switched to Fiocchi back in the day because Tula gave me too many light strikes. If I could still find them locally I would buy them

I've read they are a bit harder than some of the others. I haven't used the primers, but recently ran into an issue with my P226 and lighter hammer springs. In testing at the house with a 17# trigger, I set off several CCI 400s (small rifle) and I could set off CCI 41s (Small Military Rifle) 4 out of 6 and the 2 would light on a second strike. At the range it ran fine with my loads using a Federal primers. When a friend of mine loaded it with Perfecta, it would not fire at all. 4-5 hits on the same round and nothing. I witnessed a similar occurrence last week in a class with another gun. It would not fire the perfecta, but went through Blazer without issues. I bumped my spring back to 19# and it ran 50 rounds of Perfecta through just fine. Fiocchi makes Perfecta, I wouldn't think the primers would be any different.

Yes believe it or not there is still stock out there. I've heard of a guy buying 10k from Cabelas. Just saying that it is not readily available like before.

Poop, I needed something odd a couple weeks ago that wasn't stocked at 2A, so I gave Sportsworld a look. I'm often entertained by the prices this establishment attempts to achieve on reloading supplies, so had to give it a once over.

To my amazement they seemed to have returned some prices to "only mildly offensive, but in a pinch, yea I'd pay it" realm. And they had the 1500 ct Fiocci primers. And they were $35 maybe.

While higher than 2A when they stocked, not bad. And I've never had any issues with these after loading at least 15,000 of them, so would certainly buy again.

YMMV.
