Finally, a use for spent primers.

In the video, and seemingly what Dan is saying, it's stated that primers are made of brass. I thought the primer cup was made of steel. Who knows about this?

if there were steel in the pistol primer I would be concerned with galvanic corrosion.
But you could always check it with a magnet.

Your recycling center most likely classify the spent pistol primers as "Contaminated Brass" because of the left over ash.
HTH.

I think I really need to get an air rifle.

For galvanic corrosion to occur between dissimilar metals, you need an electrolyte (such as water) in contact with both metals. If y'got water in your ammo, yer done effed!

Not so! I used to watch Lloyd Bridges shoot pistols and rifles underwater in the Sea Hunt TV series.

I know they would not steer us wrong!!

BTW, watched the TV show that debunks theorys. One was about how easy it was to shoot fish in a barrel.
Seems its not quite so easy. The twist in the barrel, makes the bullet go in a circle to the right. They never actually hit a fish in that barrel.

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled thread. :D

Obviously needed to add more fish to the barrel

I was under the impression that primers were full of lead toxicants and not too great for you to roll around in and play with....
