I Am having sone failure to extract issues with my AR. I was getting casings that were partially out of the chamber then the extractor let go and the BCG went back and picked up another round and tried to stuff it in the chamber with the empty case. The last 5-6 times it happened this morning the case never even came out of the chamber at all I put it up this morning with the stuck case still in it.

I have been running factory ammo and reloads in it. Both types of ammo seem to be having the same issues.

I have probably 500 rounds through it since I last cleaned it. So a dirty chamber and less than perfect lubrication may be a part of the problem.

The bolt and extractor have less than 2000 rounds on it. The bolt carrier has probably 4000-5000 or so on it.

What do you suggest to fix this problem?

i had issues like that with my duty rifle.... one d-ring and wolf extra power spring later no more issues....

Well I know many of you really like the good old "D" ring/"O" ring etc. BUT if you don't have enough sprung area for the extractor to move and slip over the rim you can, and will bend the extractor. Also on thiner rims you can actually push the rim in and then it won't extract at all. Wolf recommends that IF you use their extra power spring DON'T use a D ring for these exact reasons.....and a broken EJECTOR spring can easily cause the problems you are encountering as well as cracked plastic mags....but hey go for a real extream over spring on the extractor first!! That way John and I can laugh at you even more when you F.U. something else......or??? Hey D.H. my number still works, and as I recall I am only a short 4 miles away!

On the BCM upgrade kit, it says the o-ring is included but probably not necessary. Do you recommend the extra power spring or just replacing the extractor & spring with std. parts?

I also had this problem when my SBR was running too fast. I slowed it down with a heavier buffer & fixed alot of issues with that rifle.

I've had instructors say use the military spring and spacer and i've heard them say use the ring. I think you have to find out what works in your rifle as opposed to a blanket answer for all. I will do a closer inspection of my extractor the next time i break the rifle down for cleaning, I have put approximately 1200 rounds through the current set up. But there could still be a possibility of having a bad combination.

Does it eject properly when you manually cycle the rounds? Notice any scratches or marks on the case when you do this?
