my bro wants to buy me something for Xmas and i couldn't think of anything so i figured i would get one of these and on the larger 3gun pistol stages i could blast away, so i will just have one mag that holds extra and it will be my "3gun mag"

I had several of the Canyon Creek pads for my XDM 9. I liked the purtty anodized aluminum much more than the cheap plastic of the Arredondo. Similar to liking the Dawson's more than the Arredondo. The canyon creeks are like the Taylor freelance in that they require a tool (Allen wrench for CC, screwdriver for TF) to dissemble for cleaning which IMHO is a PIA. But they won't ever shower you with bullets when you drop one.
