My wife got a sales add in the mail from a mobile phone company called CREDO "America's only progressive phone company". There sales pitch is that they are part of a movement that's fighting Tea Party-driven forces. They state that if you are with Verizon Wireless or At&T, "you should know that since 2009, Verizon Wireless has contributed a massive $220,600 to members of the House and Senate Tea Party Caucuses, while AT&T has given a whopping $1,080,000"

"As you know, the Tea Party-Infused Congress is pushing a radical-right agenda against Medicare and Planned Parenthood, against marriage equality and workers' rights, while protecting the interests of Wall Street and the wealthy."

"At CREDO we're fighting back hard. We fight through CREDO Action, our network of more than 3 million activists. We also fight by raising funds for progressive nonprofit groups-we donate a portion of your monthly charges, at no cost to you. To date, CREDO has contributed $75million to groups like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood and Rainforest Action Network. Last year alone, we raised $2.8 million."

I don't think we will take them up on there offer as we definitely don't support any of the groups they donate to.

That's just pandering. Both companies (well, their lobbyists) have given tons of money to both sides, to make sure they get the attention they want when whichever side wins.
