Nothing better then a ak47 pistol for wow factor.
Can I get a hellz yeah? Of course I'd need one for each hand.

You gotta SBR it and use a Krink side folder stock to get the ultimate kickassery from it.

I'd pass on a pistol unless your planning to get a stamp for it. CIA and IO rifles are hit or miss. The CIA WASR may have a canted front sight. Nothing a little bending can't fix. I know AF has a great return policy from what I've read. So if you have any issues they will swap them for you. I guess for a shits and giggles gun get the UF. The prices have jump up $100 so you may want to wait..... or maybe not.

I picked up a VZ2008 at Palmetto http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/century-international-arms-vz2008-sporter-rifle-7-62x39-ri1554-x.html

It's not an AK, but it looks like one. Basically the Czech's designed it to piss off the Russians. Really fun to shoot unless you let it off your shoulder, then that metal teaches you a lesson.

For $399, it was hard to pass up.
FYI you have to use mags that are specific to the rifle. Standard AK mags won't work. Other than that their GTG

I got to ask why? Why an AK when you can build a PSA or similar franken AR for about same money? Same ammo, same mags, same accessories, furniture, etc. across the platform and you get better accuracy and range thrown in for icing. Seems like a waste of safe space to me. If the cheap commie ammo was still out there in truckloads I'd be inclined to maybe rethink it a bit. Maybe...

I have ten or so AR's. It's like dating a hot blonde. Sometimes you want to mess around with a brunette to keep things fun.

To stay with one platform is great but sometimes you need to branch out to a different platform. I mean yes the ar has a better sight radius but a ak can just be as accurate with optics/ improvements. But at the end of the day if it takes up a safe spot but I have fun taking the gun to the range then it's well worth it.

If it's just for fun, I can see that. But I've seen ARs ring steel at 500 meters. Can't say that about an AK. Maybe a 74 will but I've never seen one in operation anywhere. Kind of tells me what I think I need to know about them.

I just can't see getting into another caliber and platform when you can get $40 receivers, $80 BCGs and all the rest of the trimmings everywhere right now. I end up with a far better tool for just a few more donero and it may even be less.

Jesse you need to talk to Nate. He knows his AK stuff.

I can say at far range goes no a AK is not going to be that great at long range do to short sight picture. Over all tho I believe any weapon in the right hands and condition and reach out and touch something. As far as I think his main topic was wanting to check out a platform and see if he could get into something at a reasonable price. Over all I think having a AK in the safe is a ok choice would it be my go to gun of choice no but would I enjoy taking it to the range finding some reasonable priced ammo and shooting up a storm and I only paid a few hundred bucks on it then it has served it purpose. Over all I think it is all up to the buyer and I am sure Jesse if he finds one he likes then he would be more then happy to make a spot in his safe/safes/armory/war room.
