I'm in the market for a new pistol and was looking for something that would work for competitions and came across the EAA Witness Match. Seems like a lot of gun for the money; adjustable rear sight, 18+1 cap, all steel, extended mag release, big grips (big plus for me, I have manimal paws), $499+tax.

Anyone have any time in with these? I know it's kind of a CZ clone, but I've never shot a CZ either.

The other option is get a Springfield XDm 4.5 9mm, or wait for the XDm 5.25 to hit stores. I've shot the 5.25 at H&H and it's very nice. Trigger pull could be shorter, though. And it's looking like the cheapest I will be able to find one is around $690.

I know I'm new, I tried the search with no luck. Sorry if I missed something.

Thoughts?
Please don't say "Get a Glock". :) Grip angle is kinda weird to me.

Here's something I found on them. Looks fairly in depth.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Bonobo.

Guess I'll find out first hand. It should be getting here end of this week or first of next. :wee_hee:

If you wind up with the EAA- I'd suggest Hennings for your internal upgrades/mags/etc. I have a .40 limited that I really like.

The very first pistol I was able to buy was a Tanfoglio TZ-75, a quality copy of the Czec CZ-75. I loved it! Deployed overseas so I left it at my mom's house for safe keeping till I returned. Some meth heads broke in and along with a lot of her stuff I had three firearms stolen!!! They were even broke down and packed in grease for the long storage. I was sick for weeks! Learned the value of a quality firearms safe that day!!! That was years ago but I was fond of it for no other reason then it was my first... and you never forget your first.
