I won't be, and I encourage all of you to do the same.

Here's some background: http://www.palmettoshootersforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5011

I went into the store today to return a couple batteries and exchange a game camera, no issues there. So I decide to go to the gun counter to check on the status of the Troy AR I ordered the week after Thanksgiving. The manager that I ordered the gun from was behind the gun counter and recognized me and asked if I had gotten any calls. I said no, a little confused. Apparently, he got word from above that all AR orders are being cancelled and will not be shipped. I gave him a little speech letting him know how upset and disgusted I was with Dick's, and that he should never expect to see me spend another dollar in any dick's store.

I'm not sure if anyone here had an AR on order with them, but I wouldn't expect it to come in. I will say that my interactions with that particular manager were very good. He provided good service, and I know that it certainly wasn't his choice to pull everything off the shelves. They were told to pull all airsoft and air guns that even looked like an AR. There were still a few accessories, but basically everything was removed.

If you don't care and want to continue shopping at Dick's, I have two gift cards totaling roughly $120 that I will sell you...

Interesting. I asked the same question and was told that they would be honoring the orders and would call me when it came in.

I've had two bad customer experiences there and won't be shopping there again...

Spend your money with our sponsors.
Avoid Palmetto State Armory as they are NOT sponsors.

Is there a list of the sponsors? Or just refresh the page until they start repeating at the top?

I will be calling them tomorrow. I'm headed through Columbia and up to Wisconsin Friday, and I'll be in Conway tomorrow. I plan to buy something before Christmas...

My neighbor called them at lunch and was told that they would definetly be meeting all of the pre-paid orders when they came in. I didn't ask him if he asked them why they aren't meeting those orders with existing stock.

I was told by a manager at the Florence store that no guns would be coming in, and my only option was a refund.

Give em a call at 1-866-677-4771 and tell them your local store is giving out bad information. That was why me neighbor called. Someone told him the same thing.

Guess Walmart will stop selling ar's as well now.

Walmart on Woodruff Rd. here in Greenville has been a "no-gun wally world" for years, but the one down in Simpsonville seems to be more gun-friendly.

To be honest, I didn't know Dick's sold guns in the first place, I buy my gun stuffs at Academy and/or small gun shops.

Don't know if I could shop at a place called Dick's to begin with lol.

Do you guys know if you can buy two guns, (one a pistol, the other a shotgun) on the same day, from different FFL dealers?

There is no limit to the number of guns you buy the same day.....But...

I was in one gun store today and they could not sell a gun unless you had a Concealed Weapons Permit....

The reason for that was.....Sled was so backed up, they could not get a background check today...that is how many people are buying guns right now...

With the CWP you don't have to have the background check...but, without the CWP, the background check might slow you down...

Steve

I was at PSA the other day (xmas shopping in columbia anyway) and stopped in to look around. They had the same deal - CWP, you can buy a gun in an hour or two (waiting in line). No CWP - wait time was described as "at least 4 hours due to SLED". I don't think they were making it up, either.

Also - seems there is differing store policies. The North Charleston Sports Authority, for example, actually had two ARs on the shelf for sale, no problems. Said good luck ordering anything though.

i unsubscribed from Dicks email list, had a comment box, i put in "pulling AR's from stores"

here's a good read:

http://kontradictions.wordpress.com/201 ... -tell-you/

Factoring in the rate of death caused by mass shootings from Columbine to the present (about 210 people in 13 years), it will be more than 300 years until we reach the number of casualties that occur from accidental drownings every single year in this country. In a little more than 150 years from now, we?ll approach the number of people who are poisoned to death every single year in this country. Sometime in 2014 we might surpass the number of people struck by lightning every single year in this country.

it's article's like this that make Dick's knee jerk reaction seem poorly thought out.

Ha! I did the same thing, but uses the term "modern sporting rifles" which is how they had them categorized on their Web site I think. But, I am still getting spammed by Dick's (ew, that sounds bad :( ) I guess I will have to unsubscribe again. Until they get the message.
