Dominant eye issues

There are several opinions out there on shooting cross dominant. I shoot pistol aiming cross dominant, AR or rifle is easy to shoot with non dominant eye if you are using a red dot.

I've been wearing a patch occasionally around the house in an effort to train my right eye to be dominant. It seems to be slowly working. I can sight my irons with both eyes open with my right eye, but it takes a moment to do so. Before, I couldn't sight it with my right eye at all. I'll keep wearing the patch and see if I can fully train my right eye to be dominant.
