DIY grip stipple job? Anyone every try it!

Im sure most here have, but Cyrwus does the best job. In Tulsa, Kevin Toothman is also very good.

Try it first on one of the backstraps that you are not using to see if you can get a pattern that you like. That way you are only risking a $3 part that is easy to replace.

I can't get a consistent/uniform pattern that I like well enough to move on to the rest of the grip so I still have nonskid tape on the actual frame of my M&P.

Stippling is easy. Doing it well is an art form (Accurate Ron is an artist)

Practice on spare backstraps. Stipple some AR15 grips or Pmags or cheap pocket knives for practice.
You'll soon learn that stippling patterns is hard, but random is easy, and just as effective.
Mistakes are easy to fix, just stipple over them.
Stippling raises the grip surface, so you may need to sand, grind, or melt the surface down, so its the same size after stippling.

If its a competition gun, check the rules for what areas you can and cannot stipple.
If its a carry gun, learn to make it smooth enough that it doesnt snag clothing.

I've done a couple. I did my Benelli too, I just haven't taken pics of it yet.

I'll try to find some bulk & sell it by the foot

I'm seeing a lot of the dimpled stippling, but what about the kind that looks "scraped". I've seen it on other guns and its the style I prefer. It seem to be a crazy aggressive grip without feeling like sandpaper. Anyone ever try that? I'll try to find a pic...

I must be calling it by the wrong name 'cause I'm not finding any pics of what I want...

Oh, and Kevin...other than letting you know that I'm ignoring you, I'm ignoring you. LOL!

Tony needs to carry some of accurate Ron's
M&P backstraps and stippled and undercut Sti grips
