Well, today was graduation day from my Advanced Leadership Course and we had to get all dressed up. Don't get to do it very much anymore so figured I would share.

Two stars on your NDSM??? How long have you been in the service?? And what's that little guy hanging out with your MUC?

I originally came in in 89 but later got out and had a break in service.
Well, doing a little research I think I may need to remove one of the stars. I remember being told we got the ribbon and one star each for Desert Shield and Desert Storm and the second star for OIF, but digging a little I appear to have been wrong.

Korean War June 27, 1950 ? July 27, 1954
Vietnam War January 1, 1961 ? August 14, 1974
Persian Gulf War August 2, 1990 ? November 30, 1995
Global War on Terrorism September 11, 2001 ? present

Persian Gulf War is just one award based on the dates so I should have just one star. Glad this wasn't an official photo.

The other award next to the MUC is an Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. My platoon was detached from our company and we supported an Air Force Security Forces Battalion. We bleed for them so I guess that was their little "thank you". More than our own company CO ever did for us, they didn't know we existed until the first time we got blown up, 9 months after they sent us to the USAF.

Sorry! Wasn't trying to pick apart 600-8-22. There are other periods, like if you served in Grenada, Panama, etc...anywhere that got an AFEM.

No sweat, I should have known but just never really looked it up. I also forgot to get a #2 for my NCOES ribbon, guess I'm going to have to fun up to Columbia, unless I can find one here at the Air Force base.
