That's awesome. I am from Kansas city originally and they are all over up there. Very similar to academy but competition is always good!

They don't carry pistols.
I've only been to them back east. The actual sporting goods section for guns,ammo, tackle, etc wasn't very large, and didn't carry much in stock.
Maybe the ones here will be better.
I will say I haven't heard good reviews about the ones in Tulsa.

Buncha yankees from Pittsburgh, PA. They've been on a growing spurt lately, opening as many stores near Academy as possible.
Their balliwick is stick and ball sports, especially golf.
No handguns, and full price ammo.
Their big Dicks stores carry a bunch of stuff from bikes to boats and usually have huge climbing walls. The smaller locations are just there to draw shoppers away from Academy with higher end brands (TNF, Marmot, Spyder)
Buy local, people.
Need a gun? Go to the local gunshop, preferably a boomershooter sponsor.
Need awesome outdoor gear and clothing? Go to Edmond Summit, or even Backwoods (at least Backwoods is based in TX)
Gotta go to a big chain? Academy is based outside of Houston, Bass Pro is based in MO, hell, Wal Mart is based in Arkansas.

They have them here in TN but for hunting (only field and stream) and shooting they are over priced. Since their pricing was to high on rifles and ammo i guess no one bought it, I know I didn't. Cheaper for ammo at Wally World and locally owned stores. The last time I went in the shooting and hunting department was gone. Now just golf, exercise equipment and clothing. Won't be going back. Now we have academy sport IMO a better store and better prices.

Hey if it doesn't say sporting goods it could be Dick's Last Resort it's a restaurant that's up condoms on your head and all the employees tell dick jokes we also have one in gatlinburg.

We were in San Antonio awhile back and when the tour boats came by, the employees ran to the edge and ragged on them.
Seems they had tried to get an advertizing gig with them, and because of the name the canal tour group wouldn't talk about them.
I hate PC crap!

I had a Dick's Sports by my house in STL. It was over priced and did not carry alot of what I liked. I hope the one in OKC will be better.
A Dick's is "going up" in Las Cruces.
If you search the store locator, if it's not "up" & running yet, it doesn't show up on the locator. It's a little awkward going around telling people you are looking for Dick's.
There are alot of Dick's in Texas.

Went to the grand opening of the store in Moore.
The golf shop is bright, very well laid out and has it's own separate entrance.
