my question is, is this really a stance they are taking as a company, or is it just to drum up business from once a year, 4th of July, flag waving folks who want to feel patriotic and American?

I wouldn't eat at a Denny's if you paid me, You would think that being in the same town as their headquarters the restaurants would be clean and the food would be good, NOT!

Funny the Denny's restaurants in Fl didn't allow CC so I didn't patronize their restaurants there.

So, how long before those anti-gun terrorists at the brady bunch start a protest against Dennie's? And, will Dennie's tell them to piss off?

Who cares- :? As long as it achieves the greater goal, what difference does the motivation make. Maybe in a philosophical sense it makes a difference - but its that philosophical difference that gives the anti's motivation.
If I can use patriotism, jingoistic behavior, flag wavin, apple pie, Norman Rockwell, and farmer Jones to advocate American values, and than attach a 2nd commit, you can bet I will be a doin it!
What ever it takes.
Oh- And Denny's has a vegi burger

Well, it matters if they say one thing, and are donating your money to an anti gun organization behind your back. Not saying that's what they're doing; just being cautious.

Do you have any links that identify that is what they ae doing? If so, I would love to see that.
If that is what they are doing than you have a point. If it is unfounded, then I do not understand why anyone would fault them for supporting 2nd rights.

I didn't say that's what they were doing; just that a commercial is not going to convince me.

A quick google search turns up an article that says according to Denny's handbook, they do not allow "conspicuous carry". So they are like Cracker Barrel; so long as you don't appear to be armed, you're fine. If they know you're armed, they'll ask you to leave.

Concealed carry is the key phrase, at least here. They would only be upholding the SC law as it is written, but I understand your point. I will email and ask just to see if I get a response.

wouldnt matter anyway since they serve alcohol

Good point in SC, but some states do not have the restaurant restriction on alcohol.

Well, I guess the bottom line for me, whether you like their food, you think they're not clean, have a hidden agenda, or just use too much salt, here is a company publicly supporting our 2nd Ammendment rights and it should not be too much to provide them some positive feedback whether you ever spend a dime there or not.
