Here is a pic of a buck I took during black powder season over behind (west) of McGee Creek Lake north of Lane. It was the last hunt I got to have with my dad before he passed away.

He was actually a 9pt. He fell down into a creek when I shot him and broke off a 2" tine on his right beam. I've never actually had him scored. He will always be special though.

All from Kansas.....I have a lifetime hunting license and go back every year. Have hunted for 40 yrs. the mule deer was from last year in western kansas and the whitetail was the year before from some of my old haunts!

Kansas has some massive bucks. They put the gun season after the rut, that makes the bucks harder to kill.

does Ks have a lifetime license like OK? I was stationed in the army in Leavenworth Ks for awhile, and should have taken advantage of that if it were possible. 70's

I am not familiar with ok lifetime hunting permits. You have to be a resident of kansas for 60 days to be able to buy a resident permit.

Amazing how excited a parent can get when their kids get a deer. I get the pleasure of taking kids and their parent on deer hunts during the youth deer season.
