For fun matches and steel challenge. Probably less than 1000 rounds per year. What will make me smile the most?
Thanks

I have used both, I like the dedicated upper the best. Better twist (usually) for the lighter grain .22 rounds. Plus, you can put it on your machine gun lower (if you have one) You end up building a lower for it later and you forget about swapping back. I have had the little chamber thing on the conversion kit split and break before. The comapny replaced them, but it still sucked.

The S&W MP1522 will make you smile the most. Mags are easier to load and they are giving away free ammo right now with purchase.

S&W m&p 15-22 is a hoot. I was hoping it wasn't going to be a gimmick when I bought one and it turned out to be a real winner. So far it mimics an AR platform better than any thing else I have seen.

A dedicated upper would probably be a little more. A friend of mine bought a cmmg for his full auto and it works fine in semi but he is having problems with full auto. He is in the process of trying different fixes for it but hasn't found the correct one yet.

Did he get the sear trip section from them?

Don't know I know he has been trying after market springs from different mfgs that were supposed to be the fix. Trying different springs and cutting springs and hasn't found the cure yet.

I've got one of the dedicated Nordic uppers we did a group buy on a couple of years ago. It runs without any failures. Its so stinking dirty right now, that I'm embarrassed to show it off at a match. lol

The S&W's run right along side of them.

The only advantage I can see to the dedicated Nordic upper is that I can put one of my lowers with a JP trigger on it.

You can drop the JP into the S&W. For the price of admission, it is a great option.

I put the jp trigger and disconnect spring in mine haven't tried it at the range yet. Stock trigger was pretty stiff.

I can afford 1 more thing this spring. So, the M&P get high marks, but how about the Colt?

The colt is actually made by Walther. It's fire control group is way different and the selector doesn't work like a standard AR15. It rotates 180 instead of 90. I think the mags are considerably higher. They seem to work ok, but I think the SW is the better option.
