KRTV in Montana is investigating how an apparent hacker commandeered its Emergency Alert System on Monday and informed viewers that a zombie apocalypse was underway.

"Dead bodies are rising from their graves," a voice calmly stated during the station's broadcast of the "Steve Wilkos Show."

Fortunately for residents of north central Montana, the bogus alert did not prove prophetic, and "The Walking Dead" is still just a popular cable TV show.

The alert was quickly pulled, and the Great Falls, Mont., station issued an unintentionally funny apology:

Someone apparently hacked into the Emergency Alert System and announced on KRTV and the CW that "dead bodies are rising from their graves" in several Montana counties.

This message did not originate from KRTV, and there is no emergency.

Our engineers are investigating to determine what happened and if it affected other media outlets.

Zombies would be cool! Well, as long as I had plenty of ammo around.

Plenty of ammo is always the catch, isn't it? Maybe that's where the conspiracy lies-gun control legislation discussed=panic buying everywhere=no ammo to be found. Part of the ammo shortage is military and LE bulk purchases coupled with the secret govt. cessation of releasing spent military brass for reloading. Zombies are real, they're coming, and only the gubment will have ammo. If they're the only ones with weapons and ammo, we'll all be easier to corral into FEMA camps for our protection from the zombies. Now it's starting to make sense.

if you guys want 223 brass ill ask a guy that sells it it he has some and how much.

i believe it WAS $75/1000 a while back.

Source for this?

Original article:

and Counterpoint article:
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2010/03/Jeff/counterpoint-obama-did-not-make-ammo-expensiv/

Both were written in 2010, I know, but if brass is being destroyed instead of sold, the shortage would just now begin to take it's toll.

Who knows what's true these days? I just remembered reading it and repeated the claim as if it was indeed accurate only in a humorous, lighthearted thread. What I do know is that ammo is very, very scarce. If real zombies are slow, one round to the brain for each walking dead is possible. If they're really fast (e.g. the 28 Days Later breed) I might run out of bullets quickly! And yep, I'm pretty sure this entire thread is a joke. :)
