He was at the Proam last year. I set steel for the pro squad he is a real nice guy. After setting steel all day in the 115 degree heat he came up and shook hands with us and thanked us for helping their squad run faster. Not all the pros did that except a few.

is this the type of shooting i would have to compete with if i started shooting matches?? Is this normal, or is he a supernatural!

Like the title says, he is a FREAK!

If you come to the Carry Gun match at Heartland Outdoors most of us are regular ol' slugs that want to learn to shoot our carry guns in an environment other than standing and shooting at a square sheet of paper.

He's one of the best, no doubt. He better keep practicing, though. :)

Samson, there are some guys in the area that are fast like that. It's not really "competing" against them, though, since they are on a whole other level! Dave S. is one of the top guys because he puts the time in. :)

I've known Dave since 2003. He's a pretty good guy and wins a LOT of matches. I think I gave him his first IDPA procedural penalty at the Nationals. :)

You would get to compete with him, not really against him. He's classed as a GM (grand master) in the Production Division of USPSA...So he's at the top of the heap.
He's shot quite a few matches at USSA. Nice guy (I've only spoken with him in passing) always says 'hi', always has a smile.
Speaking of GM's we get to compete with a lot of them in our area. Our buddy, our very own Phil Strader, is a fine GM, and runs head to head with Dave at any match. Over here in Ark. we have Matt Mink, he's also a GM (and beat Dave at the '09 Area 4 Championship).
Those are 3 of the top 5 shooters in the world right there (in Production anyway)...and yes, they're supernatural freaks.

The more guys that I meet like Dave and Phil and Matt that are at the top of the sport. The more impressed I am with them as people. Great personalities, and always willing to talk or answer a question. I think the smaller, slightly obsure nature of this sport keeps it's champions down to earth and hungry to make friends, which is awesome as a competitor and a fan.

Thats why Ill never forget to say hi to you, Chris!

I've been known to rock a revo from time to time. :) Guys like Dave, Phil & Matt are in a class by themselves though. I got to squad with Matt Mink at the 05' IDPA Nationals and I really fed off him. Super nice guy and I think squadding with him was one of the reasons I won that year.

Around here we truly have shooters at every level of the sports. People get too intimidated by watching guys like them when in reality, it will up your own game considerably if you'll just come out, shoot with them and watch how they do things. I learn something every time I go out and I've been doing this for 12 years now.
