Thats one thing I miss about living in an apartment. I would keep my AC as cold as it would blow and I think the most I ever paid was $90.

We do average billing, so no big swings or surprises and helps knowing budget wise every month. Do the same with the gas company too.

Yep, gotta love that average billing. $151 every month for elec, water, and garbage. My wife keeps telling me to shut off the ac, my response was why? the bill will be the same no matter what.

Mine was $105 higher, but last months wasn't a full month since I just moved in to a new rent house.
I realized it was going to be high when I went out and looked at the meter on Saturday. So over the last 5 days I would turn the thermostat up to 80 when I left in the morning, and when I returned in the evening I turned it down to 78. Then right before I went to bed I would turn it down to 70 (my roommate cries about it if it isn't at 70). I also unplugged anything the microwave and crap like that, stuff that draws a small amount of energy even when you aren't using it. It all adds up.
Our daily usage average last month was about 65 Kw/hr, over the last 5 days I averaged 46 Kw/hr. That is about $2.00 a day saving, or $60 a month. That is enough ammo for a USPSA match for my 45.
