This will be my test post to see if I have the pic link setup correctly.

Here's the Type 53 Mosin Nagant I started with for $100 from J&G.

If this work there will be more post and pics to follow.

Ok figured that out.

Now for the cool part. Or at least what I think is the cool part.
For the heavy barrel I got a Czech UK 59 heavy machine gun barrel chambered in 7.62x54R.

So from the T53 I will use the receiver, bolt and mag.

But some machine work had to be done the barrel first. I had some help from a friend on this.

Here it is setting the chamber depth.

And the finished produced with muzzle brake installed.

Tapping the receiver for the scope mount.

Here it is in the original modded stock.

I put the bipod on just because.

Got the barrel painted in Alumahyde 2 in OD Green.

Got bolt handle done and the bolt polished up.

That's about all I've got done for now. I'm waiting on a custom laminated stock that's Green Mtn Camo so it should look good with OD green paint. I also have a SWFA SS 16x scope ready to go in some Weaver rings. And a Timney trigger going in it too. So enjoy.

Not a problem. Hopefully I'll have my laminated stock for it by then but it not the stock in the photos will have to do. I will still have to do some in letting bedding and TruOil the new stock so I'm hoping it comes by next week because I will still need to zero this thing once it's put together.

I saw those barrels when they came up for sale. I was VERY tempted but knew I did not have the skills to put something like that together.

Those barrels are really hard to find now a days. Probably the next best thing to use now would be a Russian Maxim or Vickers MG barrel. I'm trying to buy a Finnish M39 with a beautiful stock on it but if that falls through I may start aquiring parts for my next build, a Mosin in 500 S&W.

I finally got mine stock in for this build. I've done most of the inletting next on the list is bedding.

You will have this bad boy at Shootzenfest, I hope...I want to see this one up close...

It is so cool.

Oh yea I plan on bringing it. I haven't zeroed it yet but maybe I'll try then if it's not too crazy.

Super sexy! Love the stock. I want a Mosin but will wait until after the holidays and finishing my Grendel.

It a SWFA SS 16x42. They are a great budget scope. They were originally commissioned under a Navy contract and produced by Tasco in Japan.

That's a Big Gorillia Gunworks stock called the viper.
I've shot 1 MOA @ 100yd with it using PPU match ammo I'm sure it could do sub MOA with hand loads. I have yet to shoot it further than 100yds I just haven't had a chance to get to somewhere to see what it can do at longer range.
