Hey guys. I've been a member over at OSA for quite a while when I heard about you at Wanenmacher last summer. Joined then, but you just came up again in conversation last night so I thought I'd see what all the talk is about. I recognize a few screen names from OSA, but I'm a bit more of a lurker than a talker unless I feel I can actually add to the conversation

I'm a hobbyist, so I sometimes have simple/basic questions. Have some friends that shoot competitively, so I'm around that world of fun a little bit as well.

Have already picked up some good info just in the reading I've done today

Another forum. Oklahoma Shooters Association. I'd seen a few other threads on here that referenced it so I thought it might be known

Thanks Wall. Your store is one of the things I was happy to learn about tonight. I'm up in Tulsa, but always enjoy a good store with a good reputation

Welcome! You should come out to shoot a match with us some time. Its way more fun to shoot than to talk about shooting.
Thanks. It does look like a ton of fun, but I'm not tooled for reloading or independently wealthy yet... Maybe I can change one of those facts soon. My friends shoot 3 Gun and it looks like a great time.

Welcome to the party. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to get started in the match shooting check out the steel challenge matches at USSA or oil capital or Alpha Training Academy. You can run .22 pistols for sure and some matches allow .22 rifles too.

All three Steel Challenge matches allow 22 rifles or pistols, optic or iron sight.

If you are not busy tomorrow, we're shooting a modified steel Challenge match at Oil Capitol. Sign in at 930, shooting starts at 10. There will be several Boomer Shooters out there. I'll be there with my 12 year old son. You can't miss us. Snag me and you can squad with us and we will show you the ropes.

Thanks for the offer Jeff. The girlfriend requested the day off from the hospital (not as a patient) so I'm assuming she has the day booked for us.

I did spend the afternoon at USSA with some friends as they prepared for the 3 Gun shoot off at Shot Show next month. That was a lot of fun! I also found out that I have some expensive guns that don't like to work. My STI 2011 wouldn't cycle and my 300 BLK rifle was FTFing all day. Just put a new spring in the STI and was hoping that fixed it, but no such luck.

Welcome to the real home for shooters.
That STI is a helluva great pistol for competitions when you get some ammo built up.

It's a 5" Tactical, so it's not one of their race guns, but it's still supposed to be really nice. I've been having a lot of problems with it not chambering the next round. STI told me to replace the recoil spring, but it proved today that the problem's still there. Frustrating.

You are hanging with Di and Ryan, you are being well taken care of. Follow their lead, you will be in great shape

With a fiber optic front sight, that 5" tactical will do just fine once you have a gunsmith do a little reliability tuning to it.
