Driving back from getting breakfast at Coits on S.W. 25th and Western I stopped at a light and when I looked in the rear view I saw a guy with a camera mounted in his dash and he was taking pictures of the tag on my truck.
After the light turned green I let him pass me so I could get a look at him.

Mid 50's mexican male, medium build with mustache wearing a black jacket and large black cowboy hat. Certainly didn't look like l.e.o..... creepy definitely.
Driving a 95' model maroon Ford Aerostar tag # 979-dpi with a police car style spotlight on the drivers side door and multiple antennaes on top.
Mounted to his dash was the camera, and a scanner clipped onto his cup holder.

Was this just some creepy neighborhood watch guy taking random pics of peoples tags or what the hell is going on? My gut reaction was telling me to pull over and yank this guy out of his car and have some words with him. My sanity took over and I started writing down his tag and car make/model etc.

I am not LEO nor have i stayed at a Holiday Inn. I would report it. No telling what or who the guy was, but I try to get the information into the hands of those that can initiate a stop/response.

Definately this!!!!!!

I'll give a call to the local PD. Just thought I would share in case you guys wanted to keep an eye out for creepers.

wow that is weird... although numerous people (mainly women) think i am crazy... I have a bad habit of whenever there is a dog in the car (or someone walking a dog) staring at the dog, not even thinking that there are people in the car (or looking at the person walking the dog), once i make eye contact i get some weird looks (because i think they think i am checking them out), i have thought about yelling "don't worry i am just checking your dog out, not you", but thought that might just make it more weird.....

My natural reaction is to flip them off and mouth a very clear "F YOU". I figure if they are a cop then they'll let me know what they're doing and what they want. If they're not a cop, well then it could get dicey.

I was pulling out of my garage while my wife was getting mail when 1990 vintgage Honda Accord with two Hispanic makes slowly passed by, looking around, turned around in the cul de sac and slowly drove by again. BMX186, I believe. Reminded my wife to ensure doors are locked and Glocks are loaded :)

Always watch 6 and never trust anyone. Be paranoid - it is better to be paranoid then should had been and weren't.

I have heard of people taking pictures of tags to see if they are cars that have a repo warrant on them, But I would say it could be a repo company looking for there next paycheck. Or it could be a creeper!
