I think that wierd looking pig dick looking thing in the front sucks.

Is there any functional reason for that to be there?

it's a permanently attached baffle stack for a suppressor.
When you slip on the outside of the can................shhhh

the sleeve & end cap.
Basically what you see is the guts of the suppressor. But it's not a "suppressor" until the outside is attached.

My biggest problem with it is that I'd be worried about bending/damaging it.

It is. Actually, from what I've read the last couple days, it's designed to be 9/40/357 interchangeable with ONLY a barrel change - same mags bolt everything.

hell yes there is. It looks like a super light short barrel rifle but since it is perm attached it doesnt require the tax stamp. then if you want add the stamp and have a integrally suppressed barrel

Yeah and the "can" is $289 retail. I haven't been able to find a price on the gun yet but I am buyin one of these and I am going to go through the paperwork and get the can for it. Should work great for HD
