Coyote hunting

Love to whack those Yodel dogs, now that most game seasons are over its time to really put the smack on them. My hunting partner and I bagged three in mid Dec along with 4 pigs, and the pig carcass was the magnet. Find a fresh dead cow or pig carcass then call, there will be several coyotes in the area close by.

Trying to get into hunting so please forgive me if this is a silly question. coyotes are hunted for the skin mostly and the fact the can be a problem critter. So what happens to the carcass?

Coyote furs aren't bringing any money, so unless you want a hide for personal use, you shoot them, take a pic and walk away.
Carrion eaters will make quick work of the carcass.

Really. Doesn't that fall under the wanton waste stuff?
Nope. The wanton waste law, was mainly brought about by people throwing fish on the bank to rot below some of the area dams where people concentrate. The smell was horrible, and the potential for disease was there.
The wanton waste, is broadly written, and is can be used at a game wardens discretion. BTW I predator hunt with a Okla Game Warden on occasion, as well as a couple of other guys that visit the hunting forum do too.

Just so that your ok with that information, contact the Game Warden in the county you live in, or will be coyote hunting in.

Hey thanks for the info! Now I may have to add them to the list of things to hunt... they are always close to my place and always loud and anoying. What do you guys recommend as far as guns/bows to kill them with right now I'm limited to a bow, shotgun and a couple hand guns

A shotgun at close range works very good with shot, or at longer ranges a slug will do the job. If you have a rifled barrel, some of the slug manufacturers are claiming 200 yard accuracy.

Now just walk away
