I just got a Uberti 1873 in 44-40. Been wanting to get a single action revolver in .45. Thought it would be fun to try out. Kind of new to the Summerville area.
Joe6112,
I have a good bit of 44-40 ammo (MAYBE 150 +/- rds) if you are interested in buying them. They are Winchester brand. I would have to look into what the value is on them though. They are from the 1980's i believe.
Their matches are held on the 4th Saturday of each month. The website says they hold "Introduction to Cowboy Shooting" on the 2nd Saturday but I'm not sure they do that every month.
There is contact info on the website. Give them a shout, I'm sure you will get a warm welcome and all the info. They host the SASS Southeast Regionals at their club (that's quite a feather in their cap); I shot the Regionals in November and really enjoyed the facilities.
If any other South Carolinians are interested in finding out more about cowboy action shooting, here is a link to the SC Clubs page on the "Carolina Cowboys" website that shows the monthly shoot schedule with links to each of the clubs in our state: http://www.carolinacowboys.us/south_car ... owboys.htm There are also clubs in Georgia and North Carolina that may be close to you.
The Geechee Gunfighters of the Palmetto Gun Club near Summerville are getting ready for the SASS Southeastern Regional Match beginning Thursday November 7 through Sunday morning November 10.
If you have never seen a match I would recommend that you come on Friday or Saturday for the main match stages. The big matches also have a vendor area with tons of great merchandise.
