I like that link. I need to replicate some of this information for the states that touch the Palmetto State.
I found it interesting that South Carolina will even issue a permit to someone who simply owns property on South Carolina.

Georgia and South Carolina will not recognize eachother's permits. This is kind of nuts if you ask me.
There seems at first glance, however, provisions in both states which allow for open carry.
I'd hate like hell to have to keep my concealed weapon on the seat of my car in Atalanta.

They must own and pay property tax. I never figured out why they put that in the law. If you don't pay property tax you won't own the property long!

The reason GA and SC don't have a reciprocal agreement is because they don't have like training. GA among other states don't require any training to get a permit. The reason SC and FL didn't have an agreement yor years was their training at the time didn't meet SC's requirements. SC and FL finally worked out their differences a couple years ago.

OC in SC is limited to; (4) licensed hunters or fishermen who are engaged in hunting or fishing or going to or from their places of hunting or fishing while in a vehicle or on foot. To circumvent the GA law get yourself a NH non-resident permit. It's a $100 for four years and the best thing is you don't have to take any classes. Just fill out the application, a frond and back copy of your SC permit and mail it in. It will give you GA, AL and MS. If you just want a non-resident permit just to cover GA then there's a cheaper route. Centre County Sheriff's Office in PA will issue a non-resident permit without taking classes for $26. http://www.co.centre.pa.us/sheriff/lice ... cation.asp
