Seriously, though: ordered Thursday afternoon, received on Saturday. It was waiting when I got back into town today. Kudos, boys.

Get to use the comp yet? Whatya dun think bout it? ;)

Austin sent me one of the Griffin Armament comps for T&E. I won't get time to install it until at leat June. If anybody want to try it out let me know and I will send it to you as long as you promise to send it back by June.

I'll take you up on that offer if it still stands.
Im trying to find a brake right now. Cant seem to make up my mind. Really considering the Miceluk brake, mainly because of price and good reviews. I would love to test this one out if you still have it.

Let us know how it works

Well, I got it installed last week and shot it in Training Group at USSA. I've yet to have an opportunity to compare it side-by-side with a BattleComp but I can tell you that it controls muzzle rise as well as one would expect a comp to. There was a slight increase in felt recoil but nothing dramatic. Installation was simple. You will need a torch or other heat source to make the peel washer do its thing. Once you get the comp to clock correctly you're in business. NOTE TO THE UNINITIATED: Follow the destructions! Be careful about taking too many layers off of your peel washer. Remove a layer or two to get you started then apply torque with the wrench to see where firm pressure clocks the comp, then repeat. Don't rush it!

We ran through a multitude of barricade and rapid acquisition drills to include firing through a 2"-wide horizontal port that was about 18" off the ground: The comp did its thing and the RDS stayed right on target even through that small slotted port. Shooting offhand and seated at about 90 yards I was able to make quick follow-up shots on an 8" 'hostage taker' plate. A rapid mag dump, let's face it, was fun but also very controllable.

I handed it off and stood in the "noisy" zone and was really impressed. There was a definite increase in concussion and noise versus an A2 birdcage but after standing next to various comps (including a BC) in tight quarters this one is decidedly less abusive than those.

We'll put it through some more drills tonight and another report will follow but for now: For my money and the performance of the comp, it's going to be hard to beat the Griffin.

Thanks for the review. I really need to try one of these out. Maybe I can meet up with you sometime and shoot yours, and then meet up with Wormy the next time he is at a match and shoot his for comparison.
