I'm building out my BoomerShooter.com lowers for my two Nephew's and Niece's lowers. These will be used primarily for plinking and a little deer hunting. I was thinking they might enjoy a lighter trigger pull for improved accuracy. What things can I do to a stock DPMS LPK to make it better without adding a bunch of cost?

I was thinking about adding a JP yellow spring kit. Good idea or not worth it?

Anything else?

I installed the springs on an m&p 15-22 and a sig m400. I also polished the trigger surfaces and was happy with the results. It isn't my jp but it was a noticeable improvement over stock. I've also heard to cut the hook off the back of the Hammer for improved reliability but never got around to doing it and never had any problems

I'm obviously no expert, but I just used a polishing wheel on my dremel with no polishing compound, on the shiney spots.

I use a small piece of 2,000 grit sandpaper on a razor blade. You need a very flat surface to use with the sandpaper so you aren't rounding off edges. I think they actually make polishing sticks (similar to emery boards used for manicures) for purposes like this but I've never ordered or tried any.
