Just got this email from them:

We are two weeks away from the first recall election in Colorado's history and we could not have gotten this far without your help. As always, we are grateful for every dollar and every minute you have shared in getting us here in defense of our rights. But - also as always, it seems - we are not yet out of the woods.

We at the Basic Freedom Defense Fund have done exactly what we promised to do - we've given our fellow citizens a chance to make their voices heard, despite having been silenced and ignored by the people we pay to represent us. We fought with everything we had to get the question "Shall John Morse be recalled from office?" on a ballot. But it's not enough.

As consumed as our lives have been by this recall effort, it's shocking to us to find that many district voters still aren't aware that an election is imminent. Some believe that the question will be on the general ballot in November. Some believe that getting the petition signatures certified was enough to ensure that John Morse would be removed. Some believe that the election is still mail-in-only and they will patiently wait for a ballot that will never arrive. All are wrong and

risk squandering the opportunity we've afforded them.

We need to reach out to these people and educate them before it's too late. And we need your help - again - to make that happen.

It's our goal to launch a final educational campaign in Senate District 11 and the surrounding areas, alerting district voters to the details of the upcoming election and asking those outside the district to pitch in and spread the word. It will cost money that we simply do not have and that is not forthcoming from other groups or parties.

However, this mailing list has over 2,500 recipients. If everyone reading this gave even $10, we would have more than enough funding to contact the citizens of Colorado Springs with the information they need to finish what we began and to bring accountability to John Morse and other politicians of his ilk.

Any amount will help and we won't be asking again. Because, in two very short weeks, this will be over - one way or the other. If you can give, do give and take this last chance to remind our legislators that "we, the people" still own our rights - and they are not for sale.

With Sincerest Thanks,

The Basic Freedom Defense Fund

Sent them money as well, I know they are just normal folks that have had their fill of representatives not representing them. I hope other BS members who can afford to, send them a few dollars as this sort of grass roots rebellion gives some hope that all is not lost.

Got this email from them earlier today. It made me mad enough to send another 50 bucks. F Doomberg right in the A.

NYC MAYOR BLOOMBERG POURS $350,000 INTO COLORADO TO DEFEND MORSE & GIRON
In Case You Missed It:
Proof of Morse’s and Giron’s “Outside Interests” revealed in new Campaign Finance filings

Denver --- In the last 24 hours, FOX 31 broke the news that the real “outside interests” in Colorado’s first-ever Recall Elections have been revealed to be on the side of Senators John Morse and Angela Giron.

FOX 31’s Eli Stokols reports:

“New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg wrote a personal check for $350,000 to Taxpayers for Responsible Democracy, the 527 group backing the recall campaigns targeting Senate President John Morse and Sen. Angela Giron.

FOX31 Denver is first to report the group’s contributions report, filed Tuesday with the Secretary of State.

Bloomberg’s contribution reportedly came just last week, according to multiple sources close to the campaign.”

And Bloomberg isn’t the only out-of-state influence. FOX also reports money from Los Angeles and Miami:

“Billionaire Eli Broad also wrote a $250,000 check to the organization, which raised a total of $708,000 in contributions between April and Aug. 22…

…Miami philanthropist Barbara Stiefel… wrote a check for $20,000.”

Today’s campaign finance reports reveal what we have known all along: that the ‘outside interests’ in this campaign were on the side of Senators Morse and Giron. This Recall movement has been a local, organic, Colorado movement that YOU all have supported from day one, and we have been fought every step of the way by big, out-of-state interests.

Senator John Morse and Angela Giron owe the citizens who live and work here an apology for the attacks in which they accused regular, everyday citizens of the very thing Morse and Giron knew they were doing, hand-over-fist: accepting out-of-state money.

Our Money Comes from YOU - Locally.

The report on Morse’s and Giron’s out-of-state money comes the same day the Basic Freedom Defense Fund filed its campaign finance report for the Committee to Recall John Morse, which shows that the majority of donors are from in-state Colorado, and that 90 percent of their donations are in the amounts of $500 or less.

“We are the true grassroots organization. We represent folks like YOU who live here, work here, and simply want their State back from the East Coast special interests like Mayor Bloomberg who influenced this past legislative session.

We said we wouldn't ask again but this is what we're up against. We need your help.

Beat back Bloomberg. Help take back our State. Send us $50, $75, or $100. Whatever you can. Your Contribution CAN and WILL make a difference in this fight. Click to Donate now.

Sincerely,

The Basic Freedom Defense Fund

Today is the day. To me it's much more than a 2A issue. It's an issue of elected representatives doing the will of their constituency. If you live in Colorado, please vote. It's a vote for all Americans!

Just checked and Giron is losing 60/40. Looks like they got them both, but with Morse it was damn close. Too close. That county is still going to be a problem down the road.

Giron just conceded, losing with a 56% yes for recall. What a way to end the day.........two representatives that turned their back on the constitution and the people they were supposed to represent are now looking for a job.

SWEET!
