Cold Weather Carry REVIVED

Also work on shooting/working with a training partner standing in as someone you need to protect (wife, child, etc.). Do much or your work with one hand as the other may likely be indisposed. If your carry method requires a two-handed draw stroke, plan ahead now.

Do you ever wear coveralls? That's when belt carry gets really weird

I had to wear those really thick Carhart coveralls and coat when I was doing Oilfield work. I can't imagine any good choice for carry with those stiff Bastards on. Maybe a crossdraw chest rig outside the coat.

I think with coveralls I am going to go with appendix carry (G26) and access it through the side zipper. Not optimum but I always have my hand in there anyway, so the draw will be very natural and fluid
I gave the coveralls a try this morning and moved my appendix over to the other side (gall bladder?) and had access through the front zipper that zips up or down. In the regular appendix position I couldn't get a grip on the gun through the front. Moving it over wasn't optimum but better than hip carry. A smaller gun in the jeans pocket under the coveralls might be do-able if you have the side zipper that goes all the way up the leg.

DO NOT try to re-holster with this carry method. Too many things can go wrong

Now that it's REALLY cold, how is everyone's winter carry shaping up?

I thought I might end up carrying my [bigger] 1911 but I still seem to go back to my Glock 26 in an appendix KyTac holster

Still carrying appendix with the M&P 9c. I did switch to the Hornady Critical Defense ammo, though. Hopefully it'll end up like every other round of SD ammo I've ever bought: Range expendable after two or three seasons.

I had to go back to my fat pants after thanksgiving and now there is no room for IWB carry for awhile.

you guys that are carrying the snub nose revolvers, are your's 38sp+P or 357?
125gr Nyclad, though I keep meaning to get my hands on some old-school FBI load ammo. The standard-pressure Nyclads expand well at snubnose velocities and they're gentle on my aluminum-framed M38, but they have trouble with heavy clothing.
