I'll do my best to explain it..... I'll summarize it here but the you can find a link to the program details at the CMP website.

Doesn't look like I will be participating in this one. I don't have a 1911 that I haven't done a mod to. The Glock 17 I am planning on purchasing will have fiber optic sights and not the standard issue sights. So it looks like I'm out. This is one match that is during the day and I could actually attend.

If you want to shoot, we can find you a pistol to shoot. Heck, I'll lend you mine if we are not on the same relay. I'm just shooting a Springfield RO with a spur hammer and regular grip safety.

The "as-issued" match gets a bit dicey. I'm actually having to borrow a pistol for that. However, I'm still fairly confident we can find you a pistol to shoot.

Bumping this up. They will be set up and selling CMP Garands during this. There are some pretty cool clinics going on to and I think hornady is going to be selling ammo at discounted prices. I think I'm going to go watch the vintage sniper match.

I'm all signed up for the pistol matches and want to watch a couple of the rifle matches. My next big competition foray will probably be into High Power service rifle, so I want to catch the EIC match if I can.

Just another quick bump for this, onsite registration, at the club, will be Wednesday 1500-1900. Even if you can't shoot a match come out and watch one to see if you are interested in shooting some of the longest running competitions in the country.

CMP rifles will be available for selection after each day’s firing is completed, beginning on Thursday, 12 April. Sales will continue until the last sale or Sunday, 15 April (unless available rifles and ammunition sell out sooner). Individuals who are not competing in the matches are also welcome to come out and inspect the rifles."
