Clarification on USPSA membership

Ok, looking to join USPSA, so I've read the whole merger deal of USPSA and SCSA.... Clear as mud. I understand it's governed by one authority now, but what's confusing is:

Once I join, will I be issued both a USPSA number AND a SCSA number, or will it fall under one number? As I understand it, I can become classified under the USPSA number, but what about classification for Steel Challenge?


Just trying to figure out how the deal works.

Your number will be the same. There isn't a classification for steel challenge that I know of. All the stages are the same for everyone, so you can compare yourself directly to anyone else.

USPSA is having a hard time getting the Old Steel Challenge classification data in to the new Steel Challenge classification System

There are Eight Stages for Steel Challenge and six of them are classification stages.

Really? I didn't know that. I never had a SC classification. How did it work? Was every match a classifier match if they ran some of those six?

You must not be the only one. But to ease your pain, they will reclassify your membership from Life Member to Benefactor. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!
