Coated don't ever smoke enough to cause a problem, just little puffs of smoke most of the time. Plated and jacketed are essentially smoke free. Lead will produce a lot of smoke, but quantity depends on the powder.

Currently I am burning through some .40 cal 200 grain lead projectiles over Titegroup. I got them last year at a great price when I was buying all kinds of elephant dung just to keep shooting. I used them at the Old Fort match Sunday. Most stages they were prolifically smokey but not so bad that it caused an issue. On the classifier stage the wind was calmer and I could not see past the end of my gun after each shot. So I won't be using lead anymore after the next 650 rounds are burned up.

Bob, Steve, Mike, Robaire, James, Mitch, all my buddies, all of whom have my utmost respect and their opinions on this subject in this thread are completely valid and based in real-world, factual experience. It's not just internet people and their flagrant, asinine opinions about products true or false, these are the guys you are going to be shooting with a local matches, they know, they have been through exactly what you are going through.

They are all shooting currently or have shot recently THOUSANDS of rounds with TiteGroup and coated bullets.

Go for it, man. Just don't buy ten thousand Cimarron bullets without testing and development for you, your equipment, and your style of shooting.

Personally, I think you'll be fine. Tens of millions of bullets sold and tens of thousands of satisfied customers can't be wrong.

However, in the world of firearms, nothing is certain. Your mileage may vary.

Exactly! Do not buy 10000 without testing! Or even 1000! Get a hundred, figure what works for you and then stock up. Just be safe!

Yea, order 100 and if they aren't up to par then cheap plink rounds and no biggie.

In my experience, fast powder with cast lead will do this but not coated bullets.

I've shot Cimmaron with Maxam CSB-1 powder, but have not idea how that compares to Titegroup.

I know Lance Jensen has shot 9mm Cimmaron with Titegroup, don't know if he still does.
