Beautiful birds. Do they lay different color eggs? Our friends's chickens do. It looks like Easter egg time when you open the container.

They lay light brown eggs. The breed is the Old English breed Speckled Sussex.
The large egg is from our older hens & the little egg is from our 6 month olds.
We chose to stay with one breed. Some people mix breeds to get different egg colors etc.

I've noticed that the younger birds lay smaller eggs at first. We get eggs from our friends that range to smallist to jumbo lol. The taste is amazing! Also, the yolks are a really beautiful yellow.

we raise chickens for meat and eggs. It's not hard to raise chickens. It does take some space. It's worth it for the hormone and proposed vaccination free food and as a downside if the stores closed or won't let you in (a la covid).........and chickens are interesting and fun to watch

get your flock(s) going now before the bird flu w mrna "vax" becomes mandatory for hatcheries
