Who knows about these things? I always thought they were stupid, and then I did the Run&Gun event. They no longer seem stupid. What should I look for? What to avoid? The only reason I'm interested is for the Run&Gun type of thing. Need to carry rifle/pistol mags, maybe water. No need for armor-bearing capability. Yet.

I like mine. Kinda bushcraft, but works.

To better answer, I like mine because it's secure when running, easy to pull off shells, and has some versatility for other stuff. I like the Otto style, but for me the shoulder straps work better.

What is the brand? Model?
Search here or BE for KY1911. John Mountjoy assembles these, although I already had the chest rig and he sold me the shell holders after I found that my quad caddies were too loose on molle. The clips are tight and gives it a nice natural curve. He has 2 models, one a little larger. I'm very satisfied with mine.

I prefer the Mark Otto. Mainly because it does not have straps. If you have to go prone you just slide it out of the way. He has a load 2 and a Quad load style. If you want his number just send me a PM.

I think Mitch meant hold Ar mags & equipment for run n gun.
If run n gun is what he meant I agree Mitch fast reloads are great on the belt but having the load on the chest, without it being cumbersome would be a huge plus. When you got to open your back pack for ammo that is a huge time waster or like my nephew his pack back came unzipped, poor kid had to back track a mile to get his magazine.
I just had two ten rd mags attached to my hydration pack, with an extra mag & loose rds in the back pack. Would have been nice to have loose rds located on a chest rig I felt if I put anything else on my belt or pockets my pants would start sagging from the weight.

[SIZE=10.5pt]There's a new company in Tulsa called Zero Hour Outfitters that is selling BNIW issued soft goods like this. The best way to reach them right now is through Facebook or by calling them at 918.851.3115

This is a Veteran-owned and operated business and at least one owner has over 40 months of active combat experience, so he's got a pretty good sense of what's quality and what's crap. One owner is a friend of a friend and the other I just met. That said, these guys impressed me. Give 'em a look.

PS - They're also going to be a sponsor of the July Run N Gun.

S.O.E. also sales combat cocks. They got a short video explaining product.
