You inspired me to buy a vintage UJM with all that talk about the water buffalo.

SOOOOO, chalk that up with the Brittany Spaniel on the "elephant dung Dennis Hoddy has gotten me to buy" list.
Lol! :D

So, got that Britt into any quail yet? Season opened this weekend if I remember correctly.

Living in a military community makes for odd occurrences at times. Like tonight for examples. 2 massive explosions rattle the area and people are all "oh, must Ft. Sill, what's on HBO?" If that happened virtually anywhere else people would be freaking out.

I heard the explosions too. I live near the interstate and assumed it was Ft.Sill. I did hear a lot of sirens afterwards, but I hear those all the time, because of the locations of area fire departments. Still, they sounded pretty powerful!

I know what you mean. We live near Ft Leonard Wood, the engineer school. Booms all the time, but not many that are really noticeable unless you live right off post. The Chair Force has Cannon Range here also, where they do gunnery with the A-10s. I love the A-10. When that GAU-8 opens up, you hear the fabric of time and space being ripped open. It makes me happy.

I can believe it's Saturday night I I didn't think to get some Shiner and all I got is this nasty raz beer something or other

My concealed carry permit saved me from a ticket today.
I was busted doing 83 in a 75 just on the east side of Amarillo this morning. When the officer approached, I gave him my ccw permit along with license and insurance and told him I was carrying at my 3 o'clock. He responds, "well that's a good thing to hear. Let me head back and get a warning printed out and you can be on your way."

And some say the Texas highway patrol hate Oklahoman's lol

He pulled you over for doing 8 over? Is that a drug smuggling corridor or was he just bored? Assuming you weren't drunk and didn't have a dead hooker in the seat with you, that would have been a dick move giving you a ticket.

The warning said I was pulled over for going more than 10% over the posted speed limit, so I guess they go by percentages there.

Written warnings on an out-of-state tagged vehicle, that's humorous. Well, guess he showed you that his patrol area is carefully watched. Did you say thank you at the end of the traffic stop?

I got pulled over out there a couple of years ago. I did the same as you, told him my gun was on my right hip and he says, "hell boy, this is Texas, everybody has a gun." Hands me my DL and CCW back and tells me to slow down a little. I must not look as daunting as you and worthy of that written warning.
