OK so I was talking to a fellow at the gun range that had NEVER shot a gun. I told him he could shoot mine and I taught him how to hold it, load it, rack it, aim it, and pull the trigger. He fired 2 shots (neither of which hit anywhere near where he was aiming) and then looked at me wide eyed and said "can I put it down now???" Strangest encounter with a gun yet.

He must be someone's girlfriend.

Our Range does a Women on Target program every year. 90% of our participants have never held a gun before. Most say their spouse has and shoots, but they want to learn from somebody else.

The hardest thing to teach them is how to align the sights. We finally went to a prop to show proper sight alignment, and it sure helps when they can actually see whats going on vs being told what to do. I suspect the new shooter you were working with is the same. People learn by visualizing vs being told.

In the search, battle, and sustained global conflict for the best tacos, Hugo's Taqueria on NW 23rd is the Enola Gay!

You guys seriously need to learn how to make your own tacos. I make them almost weekly. Tortillas are really easy to make and vacuum seal and freeze well. Marinate and grill the meat (or do confit for carnitas), make some pico, add some cheese and sour cream and you're there. Made some borracho beans last night that went pretty damn well with some tacos. I also make some Mexican rice that is better than any I've had in a restaurant.

Make mine from ground elk mixed with 10% pork fat, all fresh ingredients including cilantro green chili's, onion, garlic and jalapeno's. I can make fresh tortillas in minutes with masa flour.
The sour cream will never be in my taco's. That is some nasty elephant dung.

My wife likes it though.

I don't doubt your culinary excellence and experience with south of the border cuisine. I would love to try your tacos and Spanish rice, I really would! I, for instance, just happen to make the best tamales ever, in my opinion. What I think the lure and intrigue is with tacos, is that you get to explore your community, face danger, peril, take risks, and have a goofy story that makes one both envious and hungry.

A taco just isn't a taco, it's an experience.

P.S. I've been to Hugo's twice in the last two days. I got shut out of Tacis Don Nacho last night. As I got there, they were closing.

Long live the taco escapades!
