Actually ate some in Tx way back in the day. Uncle had land around Corpus Christy.
The hired hand shot a couple and cooked them by burying them in a pit wrapped in foil with veggie's. Dug them out and did the taste test.
I was pretty young at the time, so my culinary pallet was not educated, but I remember all the adults saying it tasted like pork. Some white meat, and some a little darker.

Sure wouldn't do that now, as they are known TB carriers.

All I know about em is those armor plated bastards make a racket and a half walking through the woods when you are sitting on a deer stand.

Bootleggers are open in next dry county over, but no Sunday liquor sales unless in a restaurant. And even that is fairly recent. KY is a bit backward in some areas, but we do have lots of cool places to shoot, fish, and hunt.

Our liquor sales are the same here. Liquor stores closed on Sunday and we can't buy it anywhere but the liquor store in bottles. By the glass it can be had at restaurants any day.
