The jail is so much safer now.

Nice picture of some nice weaponry, I bet those were a welcome addition to the Charleston County LEO arsenal!

Best of all, I love the police poochie in the foreground- they are the most dedicated LEOs to have by your side. 8-)

The KSG as a duty weapon?

I suppose they could have non-lethals in one barrel and buck in the other... But still...

The only time I (or anyone else, for that matter) have seen those guns is in this photograph. The SOG guys on each of the four Teams still use their Mossberg short-barrel shotguns.

We're thinking this is a publicity shot for some tv show.

I have been wanting one but have never actually seen it in person. Four in one place, that is unheard of. As rare as they are I figured Kel-Tec is producing them at a rate of about one a year.

How rare are the Olive Drab colored ones?

I hope they didn't buy them off Armslist ($2500+) with tax dollars! Those elevated prices aren't so bad when it's someone else's money, huh?

I didn't know they even made them in OD. But if they want to upgrade to those I'll take one of the short barreled Mossbergs off their hands. :D

I guessing these were ordered direct from Kel-Tec a few years ago at a price much less than $2500. At least I hope so.

That's the jails sog team. They still use mossberg 590a1 with 14.5 inch barrels. And yes its a promo picture cause garcias pushing them cause their his new sponsor. The jail bought mossbergs because the was his sponsor last year. If you go on his page uscsog.com or corspecops.com some of his ksg testing was at our jail. That bs about it being frozen or in the shower for so long it only spent about 10-15 in each one. And for those wondering there only used for less lethal.

So why is the guy from Transport (far left) holding one?

Anyone was welcome to try out none one in that picture made it who wasn't already on sog. And the guy on the far left was there to translater Spanish to two guys who were from prisons in south American who wanted to see the program. Apparently their country or prison doesn't allow use of chemical agents such as oc, mace, cs so they were looking for new forms of control besides sticks and shields. They already use a form of rubber buck shot that OS supposed to be bounced at the inmate. One of the guys showed a wound where he was hit. Direct on it penetrates the skin and has to be squeezed out like popping a zit. Charleston county uses lightfield less lethal products in its shot guns at the jail. Specifically nova dr (110 decibel blank), star lite (useless), super star, mod range slug, and extended range slug. Swat team on the law side still uses remmington 870's with Orange furniture and uses old tech bean bag rounds and have been have rounds for the 40mm but those basically fall out the barrel. Ofcourse jail still has oc grenades and foggers, hornet next, and flash bangs.

Eta: the dog is a giant snauser(spelling?) Garcia said he picked up over seas. It's trained for cell extractions, bark on command, ect

SOG Team has fully converted to using the Kel-Tec KSG Shotgun at this time.

The "spend it if you got it" mindset is apparently accurate, as they're transitioning to brand new uniforms and brand new vests, too.
