Just went thru this thread.. what a wide assortment of grips & all seem to change the appearance ..for better or worse, IMO..
While I like the look & feel of some grip styles, how well they work with my hand matters most to me.

I too have a large collection of ( old, used) grips. All started with their " stock " (oem) grips...until I decided I / they needed a change..
I first went the Pachmayr route, put various styles on both auto loaders & revolvers.
Tried & decided l liked the thicker, softer, Hogue grips, ..w/ finger grooves.. bought for both revolvers & auto loaders.

Some time later I bought a couple of prs. of beautiful, smooth wood grips , w/ high glossy finish.
Look beautiful, feels nice, but very slippery when shooting...

Which led to latest round of grip changes..to VZ G-10 grips (& other brand clones) that are now on most my 1911's,
the ones I shoot often anyway. Not crazy on their appearance, but love the grip from the aggressively-textured surface.

I like 'em. I have Mil Tac grips on several of my HiPowers some thin navridex on some and a set of Lok grips on one. Love Lok slim grips. Have a sandpaper feel that I like. Probably get more in the future. The mil Tac are great too.

Better pic of my 1911 with grips. It's a Kimber. Don't hold that against me. If I were to do it again it would be something else.
