Is there a reason people don't powder coat slides or gun parts?

Powder coating gets pretty thick which could affect fit of slide to frame and isn't really made for metal on metal friction.

If anyone has a loaner I need a setup for Sept 7 class I'm doing in Stroud. I have M&P but need a Glock preferably--since I shoot them better lol!! Totally forgot about that class oops....
