My pregnant Ol' lady wants to get her CCW but has been advised by her doctor to not shoot at an indoor range due to potential poor ventilation issues and thus potential of breathing harmful air. I personally don't think a one time trip to an indoor range will hurt, but there is no convincing her otherwise.

So, anybody give advice as to where we can find her a CCW class that does their range shooting at an outdoor range. We are in the Charlesto area, so hopefully a reasonable driving distance from Goose Creek.

Thanks
Don

She can take her CWP with us and we can make arrangements for her to shoot outdoors or we can even have her take the classroom portion and then after the baby is born she can proceed with the shooting portion. How far along is she?

She is due mid October.... We want her to have the permit by the time the baby comes. The arranging for outdoor shooting sounds like a viable option.

Indoor / Oudoor - No difference. Pregnant women should not be shooting, period. Any heavy metals from the lead to the primers will enter her bloodstream and be given to the child. As an adult, we can better tolerate these materials, and we're much larger than a child, so the effects are much less. For the infant, could be very harmful.

Wait until after birth AND after nursing (if she plans on).

Same goes for practice/fun at the range: She needs to wait.

Thanks, but the purpose of this thread is to find what we are looking for, not looking for opinions or to debate as to whether or not she should be shooting at all. Our decision has been made.

Belt Training has their own outdoors course. And...they feed you dinner...Can't beat shootin' and country food...
