Looking for CCW classes for me and my wife. Any recommendation welcomed, prices i have found are all over the board ranging from 85 to 150. At almost double the price am I getting anything extra (seems ammo is on me with all the classes so no bonus there)? Descriptions seem the same as far as content. If i'm paying for two people that is a big difference. My wife is a Greenville schools employee if anyone offers disconunts for that as well. Thanks for the help. Thanks for the help! :D

Just a little info- large disparities in the prices for CWP classes usually means the expensive ones include the SLED fee and the less expensive ones do not. This is not a guarantee but is typical. At the end of the day, the total cost is about the same. Don't know who to recommend for you though. And yes, you provide the ammo (assuming you can find it  ). Good luck.

Thanks for the replies and the heads up on the SLED fees. Fortunatly I have some ammo saved for a CCW course. Unfortunatly not enough ammo for regular range time. Guess I need to get serious about reloading... although I hear componets are about a scarace.

Since we *have* to take the class I have no reservations about recommending the one I took at Allen Arms with Mike Sexton as the instructor. You can go to their website ( http://www.allenarms.com/training.php#instructors ) and actually look up a brief bio of their instructors. He was a nice guy with great background and a ton of experience. There was also a Grandmother in attendance that day and he was very respectful and educational in regards to her needs both in class and at the range for qualifying.

It was all inclusive as mentioned above by LiveFreeOrDie. The cost covers everything...class, fingerprinting, SLED costs, etc.

There is also a member on here that has a company called "Definite Defense" ( http://www.definitedefense.com/ ) that conducts CWP course and training.

Just my .02 cents....

Good luck and cheers to you and your wife for going and getting your CWP.

Definite Defense offers couples classes. The owner is a woman and teaches lots of ladies.

I can also recommend the CCW class taught by Mike Sexton at Allen Arms. A couple of us from my work took this class, and it was well put together and everything was very organized. The cost is on the upper end, BUT well worth it. Includes all fees, range time, and they even mail your paper work for you. It's a painless as it gets, and the class was top notch.

I took mine 4 years ago at allen arms (with Mike Sexton as well I think). It was great. I even had to miss day 2 and they let me reschedule with no issues. I really like the people at that shop, I just wish they were more reasonable on prices for guns/ammo.
