CarryGun Tactical Action Match May 5th at Heartland Outdoors

Unfortunately, I only got to shoot one stage before getting called away on a personal matter, but it was fun - even the weak handed stuff. I need to do it again soon.

thanks to kelly for letting us borrow the coolest .22 i have ever shot in my life.. that gun is awesome..

I think I'm actually sore from trying to balance on those balance beams. Lots of fun though!

I'll have to wear the jersey next time, I completely forgot about it.

Thanks for all the hard work everyone. Thanks to the Mullican's for letting us use that awesome .22. See you next match.

Thank You! to Heartland Outdoors for hosting the match!

Thank You! to David for the Challenging, Fun match and course design!

Thank You! to the Mullicans, for the use of the red dot .22, that was fun.

NO MORE BALANCE BEAMS ! PLEASE ? :(

Balance beam? I thought I explained, it is a shooting platform.

You may wonder what inspired such an idea.

Two things: shooting from boards at previous matches and my BIL.

The first is self explanatory, but let me condense a long story short about my BIL.

For years, BIL was a gunowner, not a shooter. For 25+ years, we'd shoot casually and I'd try to teach him technique, etc, but he'd rather watch cattails explode over perfecting an El Prez.

Suddenly, he decides to learn how to shoot and buys some guns, reflecting his new outlook. He pays to take a class and his lack of solid technique was quickly noticed. The instructor asked him to "show me your fighting stance," He assumed an aggressive stance and the instructor said, "that's your new shooting stance!" BIL was ecstatic to find his new stance. If I had been at the class, I'd have asked, "What if I can't get into my 'fighting stance?'"

You know, like shooting while moving, while seated or from awkward positions. Real world plausible, practical stuff.

The board tested your technique. If you found yourself being forced off the shooting platform, by the recoil, then your technique or execution of it is flawed.

i like the board. My low center of gravity and flat feet makes standing on the board very easy. sad how my lack of fitness paid off.

I kept falling off trying to line up my sights. I think recoil is what kept me on the board ..um ...SHOOTING PLATFORM often! My size 14 Payless specials put me at a disadvantage to some my friends who learned to shoot tiptoeing through the pastures of Oklahoma.

This is a great picture! Can you text me a copy? I saved this one but it isn't as clear as the other one you sent

I know I have asked this before, but does the riffle have to be suppressed if it is .22lr ? I plan on attending the one on the 19th(I assume that's when the next one is?) I remember you saying that unsupressed riffle was ok as long as it was .22lr, but that was back in October, and there has been a St Patrick's day since then, so my memory is a little fuzzy haha.
