Carrygun Match THIS Sunday, May 1st

OSA Moderator BulbBoy posted something about how the link didn't work and suggested posting the results there. ...

Is there more to it than that?

How can a link not work? They are being little boys again. Everybody that shot the match knows where the results are so let's quit worrying about it.

I bet $5 they are over on another forum chatting about it and having a good laugh together. I wish they would grow up.

at least they tried a facade of civility this time. His gripe to me was that I wasn't allowd to make a post about banned members. I call BS, and I don't mean boomershooters

Yeah talking about banned members is in their rules somewhere. I got banned my first time for calling out Michael Brown for banning Kurt Miller and Mike Pinto. Who bans those professional shooters from their forum? It's all good though. That forum played a big role in my getting into shooting again and the creation of this great forum. I thank them for that.

yeah i barely even visit that forum.... i went to it this morning and all i saw were people saying that Obama faked the whole bin laden thing.... i guess i shouldn't be surprised..

Ok, I got it fixed over there. The problem was the PDF file size was too large. So I zipped it

Glad everyone enjoyed the match. It's always great to see new shooters giving it a try. They always enjoy it and they always come back, keeping matches like these going and growing.

Folks said they liked Stage 4 where you backed up while shooting. What other stage elements would you like to see?

I did not shoot the third popper in the first stage, second array. And I watched others not shoot it, as well. I'm not sure why it was elusive, but I like it. It will keep me more on my game from now on. Maybe it was the proximity to the third array, which is when I considered shooting it, before I realized it was already a no-shoot.

Moving and shooting was cool, but I don't remember walking backward, even though I was told that I did. Also, the sub-stages you've done before are excellent.

After shooting this (my first match) I feel I learned a lot from not only what I did (and didn't do), but also watching and talking with experienced shooters. Jesse gave me a really good explanation on the scoring system and some strategy for it. Reviewing my individual stage scores, I did not shoot any one stage clean, so I see how huge that is now. I shot 2 stages (2 & 3) with only 1 "D" penalty on each one, but had I shot those 2 clean my score would be better by 6 seconds.

Stage 3 I totally bombed, swinger tanked me. Stage 1, I think I just had the 1st time jitters and all I could think about after the buzzer was go fast, (and I'm not fast) ha!

I definitely have a goal for myself at the next one......shoot at least one stage clean, hopefully more, and build on that.

I envy you younger guys with good eyesight, being able to "call your shot" is huge. If I wear my bi-focals I can not see and focus on the front sight and sight picture properly. I opted to wear my "computer glasses" which let me focus on my front sight and get a good sight picture, but my distance is not sharp thus making calling a shot tough for me, especially for the brown on brown targets.

So I have a lot to learn, a lot of room for improvement, and ready to come back and give it another go!

The swinger was one of the toughest stages I have seen at Heartland. The brown on brown targets was just cruel :(

You have the right idea about setting a goal of shooting clean on 1 stage, then progress until you have all stages consistently clean. THEN think about being faster.

As for your eyes, you aren't alone brother :)

Glad you came out and we look forward to seeing you more

yeah i agree burk, the brown on brown was killing me (or at least that is my excuse..)

I am bringing some day-glo orange paint next time David tries to pull that crap I am going to spring into action.........................not unlike a ninja. Granted a kind of an older ninja, but still.
