Carrygun Match at Heartland

Sweet. Will the matches on the 3rd and 17th be the same? If they ate I could score them together so we could essentially have a monster match. That would be cool!

I'ill be back for this one. It drove me crazy missing the last match.

I will be shooting my extra-grippy G26 (by Accurate Iron) in the sub-compact

I would be glad to take this off your hands....you need a revo. How much?

If I make it to this one, and if my carry holster makes it in time, this new toy will be making it's match debut.

Sparks VM2, I"ve only ran 125 rds thru it and it ran 100%. Scandium frame makes it jump a little but not bad, feels great in my hand with that bobtail. I'd been looking for one for a while.

Stages are drawn up.

The second match will have very similar stages, but they'll be a little different.

Scoring it as one big match might be cool, but how could we account for folks shooting a different division or shooting only one match?

This reminds me of a question I have been meaning to ask you the last couple times I saw you and keep forgetting. Do you allow someone to shoot two divisions in the same match? Obviously, said person would pay two match fees.

I've always had mixed feeling about this. It's good to be able to shoot multiple platforms, but what you ultimately end up with is a practice run for your second gun. You get the chance to figure out prop timing, obstacles & what works & doesn't that others don't have.

Thats a good point Tony. I really never thought about it that way

That's not to say I don't do it when given the opportunity. :D
I'm just questioning the fairness.
Yes, hypocrite = me :P

If you made the stages in both dates A's identical A's possible I could score both dates A's the same match. We could have an 80 shooter match for the month. Shooters could shoot two different divisions and see how there guns/gear/performance compares to the other dates guns/gear/performance. That would be really cool. It would run smoother for setup in the second date too because those of us that have already shot the match on the first date would be able to help setup and score so much faster.

Plus Wall would have two chances to try to beat me with his race gun against my Snubby.

There are no prizes for winning. So you are only really competing with yourself.

speak for yourself i have a custom shirt made up that says HEARTLAND MATCH CHAMPION, that i wear when i go out and i show it off to everyone!!!

also i am against the 2 gun idea because not only do you have an unfair advantage but then the matches will run really late!

Then what's with the NFL Endzone dance & the shirt that says "If you aint first, YOU'RE LAST" every time you win?

Yeah, you might be right. But, if that's the case, then why even have divisions? It's because even though it just a friendly competition, it's still a competition. :D

I will go with a "25 shooters or less" policy on the Second Gun thing. I don't want to have 50 shooters show up with 25 of them shooting a second gun. This is the same as having 75 shooters which is just too many. Maybe I'll make it 30, depending on the match.

I don't see much of an advantage to shooting a practice run on these stages. It's not like they are complicated or difficult.

I'll ask here and at the match:

1). How many will shoot both matches?

2). If you do, would you shoot a different division?

3). Would you like to see the SAME stages at both matches?

4). Or would you prefer similar but different challenges?

Oh, Jesse, turn off your auto-correct!

I can most likely only make the 1'st Sunday match. I'd love to shoot both, but it's not practical for me.
