Carrygun Match at Heartland

Everyone should be out by 10 pm

Stages will be set up by 6:20

Yes, we need more RO's. This is one reason I'm going with two squads, as there was a slight shortage of ROs running 4 squads.

Getting help sweeping up before AND after the match is critical.

Getting help to set up the stages is always appreciated!

I'd previously mentioned I spent 45 minutes putting things away after everyone had left and I discovered the mess. (it looked ok on the monitors, but it wasn't)

OK, I and others will make sure that the place gets cleaned up after the match.

I may not be quite ready to RO but I will run the score sheets and maybe that will help things move along a little.

PS: David, did you get my email about a holster?

A couple of posts in this thread made me think that getting people to help out has been somewhat of a problem but, frankly, I haven't ever seen that be the case. There seems to always be more than enough people taping and resetting targets. Are there some slugs and I am just missing them? Or maybe they are always on the "other" squad?

Just curious.

Yes, plenty of people taping (how many does it take to tape 4 or 5 targets), but it's the same people the entire match. Clean up is where everyone needs to pitch in. We all want to get home, the more folks helping out the quicker it goes.

I might make an appearance. Don't really want to be there until 11:30pm, though.
Haha, when I first read this, I read it as you didn't want to be there, as in show up, until 11:30. I thought wtf, he think he's some kinda rock star?

Burk, leave the sweeping to me.....stay away from the brooms.

If I wasn't such a gentleman, I might make some kind of comment about you riding it home. But since I am, I would never say anything like that

Nothin' but love here.......nothin' but love.:88:

Yes I got the email.

No problem!

We will start doing the "call out" again: "bill the shooter, Sandy on deck, Burk tape, sweep, reset, brass and shoulder rub.....". He'd have to do this for both squads.....:)

Or, only if Burk isn't there, we will divide up those tasks.

This may just confuse everybody but here goes anyways. From a scoring standpoint, you do not need to write down or even call out the A hits. The only thing that goes into my scoring spreadsheet is the time, D's, misses, procedurals, no shoots, and WTH's. So as the RO or scorekeeper if the stage was shot clean write down the time and tape the targets up. That should save a minute or two on each shooter.

Very nice tip, Sounds quite efficient! Now if only we could all just hit A's and nothing else.

As a side note the May match will be the "1911 Single Stack Attack" match in recognition of the upcoming 1911 Single stack Nationals.

Anyone using a 1911 single stack will have first chance at a certificate.

Along those lines understand that , for THIS match, the "B" and "C" zone are scored as an "A"

Good point David!!! A, B, & C hits require nothing from a score recording standpoint. If the hits are all C or better go onto the next target and tape them up.

Will there be trophies or pizza?
