Carry Gun Match - February 5 Heartland Outdoors

Thanks to everyone who skipped the Super Bowl to come shoot with us.

Thanks to David for some awesome stages.

We will get the scores posted in a couple days.

I hope Burk was finally able to win a division tonight with my absence from the match. :P

Thanks to everyone that came out!

We will do variations of two of the stages next time, but the other two will be all new.

Might even have a stage that'll make you think....But not too much!

Just as long as there isn't any more math :)

Of course not. If I were having any luck with my sanity I wouldn't be visiting this forum so damn much.

Good point.

On another note, a handy tip for everyone: turn off your cell phone before you shoot the stage!

There I was, going into side-prone, when my pocketed cell phone starts ringing. On about the the 3rd plate I'm thinking, "what moron is calling me now?"

I should've known...... Jesse

Benjamin, being the consummate scorekeeper that he is, called me at 5:30 am to tell me he was at my door, could he please get the score sheets.

After a few choice words, I gave him the scoesheets. Talk about dedication!

Results to follow shortly.

I wish i could of been there, but family time at the superbowl party was more important to me. i will be at the next carry gun match, and the super classifier at H&H. Hope to see ya'll there.

Match within a Match was fun. Par times always make me think....oh crap, gotta go fast! I finished ahead of the air horn and then thought I could have done better not rushing my weak hand shots so much.

The "Qualification" style shooting is a good way for everyone to shoot in a short time frame.

As I asked at the match, if there is enough interest in doing something like this once a year or twice at the most, we can do it.

I could find specific Courses of Fire and targets for, say, the FBI, Air Marshall, etc. it might be interesting to know how YOU scored on an official CoF. Like if you score a 95% on the FBI course when "passing" is 70%

Who knows, it could come in handy.

Comments?

Sounds fun, I think anything to have a benchmark to reference to is good!

i think twice a year with the 2nd time being already predetermined, meaning after you shot the first one, you know in 6 months (or whatever time frame) when the next one will be and people can plan on being there and measure their improvement... and i can save the results and post both the first and second times with improvements, we could even do a most improved shooter prize!!!
