I think its a setup. If you get a lot of youtube hits, they pay you. Looking stupid with a shotgun apparently gets you a lot of hits. No debris from the shot going into the ceiling. Probably an empty shell case.

Which mistake?..there were a lot. Wrong shell, says it was the gun in wwII and then it was a clone. 20 gauge in a 12 gauge shotgun. Kept pulling trigger. Finger on trigger most of the time.

Too many mistakes even for an idiot. Must be staged.

My original thought was that he seemed to put a 20 gauge shell into his 12 gauge shotgun. I've had it pointed out that yellow is not a standard for 20 gauge and that 12 ga can be several different colors depending on manufacturer. He has another video of him shooting his pistol into the ceiling. I still think they are fake.
