Anyone know a good place to camp in the summer? Somewhere in SC/NC that would not be too uncomfortable in a tent. Some place that is between full primitive and next door to a mega Mobil house trailer.

It has been a number of years but Oconee State Park used to be very comfortable in summer. It had primitive sites , trailer hook-ups and cabins. It also had a Laundry and convenience store. Nice trails to hike and a cold, cold lake.

Pisgah National Forest - tons of hiking trails. Check out Thrift Cove/Pink Beds area if you are wanting to backpack in.
Davidson River Campground is right off the main road.

You're bound to find something up there to like and the elevation helps cool it down a few degrees.

In SC just above Oconee SP is Cherry Hill Campground. Quieter with less amenities.

Lost cove off of 19 at the top of Cherokee. Middle of the day it is 75-80 and at night gets to 60. basic ammenities, shower, pond, laundry, electricity. But its not in the greatest condition...its an old biker park :)
