Calibers for Spring Shootzenfest 2013

Clicker - are the large pin upper receiver pin holes centered the same as the small pin? IE, could I just make a sleeve that goes in your upper front lug, and have the small pin go through that? Or are they offset?

Mike I think they're offset. I'll drop the SP1 upper onto one of my regular lowers and see what it looks like.
The bad news is It will be next week before I can do that.

No worries. Tigerstripe is bringing his 16" upper, so I'll have choices. I'd prefer to build an LMG-ish rifle but I'm not entirely sure that the 22 conversion kit will have enough recoil to operate the slidefire with the longer (and heavier) barrel. I wish I had a way of measuring recoil impulse v. barrel length and find out how much of an impulse the slidefire design requires.

I'd also like to be able to calculate gas dispersion angle and velocity from a flat ended pipe, but that's another gun project for another gun time.

Maybe I should have stuck to aerospace - the legal world is generally bad at the maths.

They have already made them:
http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/re ... 24949.aspx
with estimated shipping its still under $10.

Here's a reverse brake: http://www.wheatonarms.com/sw-mp-15-22.html

Tigerstripe: have you managed to get that flashhider off the .22 upper so we can put my suppressor on it? :)

Well, can't top what's on the list already, but I will have my M&P 15-22PISTOL to play with.

XDs in .45ACP

Might bring out the Mossberg MVP 5.56 bolt gun, it's a lot of fun with a 30 round mag in it.

It's a solid performer for such a cheap rifle.

They are developing a .308 as we speak.

Paco, the flash hider is loose.

Mike, i also have a 8 or 9 inch 22 bbl upper. it has no fore grip but it works.

if i bring my SBR we will be legal to put on your slidefire stock with the short bbl.

My son, Confed Sailor, is bringing some black powder firearms. Not sure what to tell you about powder and ball and cap. Seems like he favors FFG and FFFG powders for handguns. FG or better for long guns. Don't know which ones he will bring. I'll let you know when I find out.

Dave

ive got the QD connects for a YHM 30 cal can on a 30 cal and 556 upper.

does anyone have a YHM QD can?

Andy does but i dont think he is going to make it.

ill probably be bringing any idems he has promised and maybe some P-mags of his.

I will be bringing two of our demo rifles in 5.56x45.

I will also bring:
Yugo M92 7.62x39
Bulgarian AKS-74U 5.45x39
LMT 10.5" AR-15 with an AAC M4-2000 suppressor

Tigerstripe, are you bringing your AR-10 this time? I'd like to compare with my M76, and see if I want to keep that or sell it and get an AR-10 from Rock River for my DMR-ish rifle. Be happy to trade some rounds down the stretch AK :)
